Exactly where does it get applied? Along the weatherstrip, or the mechanism joints.

All the seals...(i.e. weatherstrips around windows and top).

...can the rubber seals be protected with 303 after application of Shin-Etsu, to help keep their moisture longer, or would that impede future absorbance of more Shin-Etsu?

Alternatively, would 303 work in place of Shin-Etsu?

I am using 303 for the seals. I do not want to use silicone on any of her rubber.

Why not? I thought silicone is the recommended treatment for rubber parts.

Up to you.. but I have found if I don't treat the seals as recommended I get wind noise and water leaks. I will continue to use the Jap grease.

Thanks for the informative post, S2K4ever.

Interesting, particularly, the part about silicone interfering or making difficult the application of UV protection -- something with 303-AP is particularly acclaimed for.

How long have you been using 303-AP on the seals?
