Default The simple pleasures

I haven't been using the car these past two weeks as I have been riding the motorcycle. I have no access to a garage (roommate took it over for his band), and I don't have a car cover (yet) so the car was covered with pollen and dust. Thankfully I went through a week and a half of multiple coats of sealant and wax a month prior.

I decided to take it out for a spin last night to run a few errands since it was so nice (60 deg at 7pm). Had a few bucks in change in the console so I swung into a wash bay. Presoaked the car with the non-pressure soap spray, then blasted it again with the high pressure soap, then rinsed with the wand again.

Not a speck of dirt or dust left on the car. Pulled my WW drying towel from the trunk and took care of the still-beading water.

There were people in the other bays washing when I arrived, and I was out of there before they were even done with the soap!

Good times.

Yup, I am always very careful with the wand around the seals.

This was just a rinse off more than anything. Pics from my wax-coating binge from a month+ ago are on page 6 of the picture post sticky.

Be very careful when drying off your car after a coin-op.

FWIW, I never hand-dry a car after cleaning it at a coin-op. I use Collinite as my sealant, and I know that I can never get every speck of dirt off-- nowhere near my comfort level for toweling dry.

Because of the strong beading of Collinite, I just rip the car on the highway for 5 minutes, and most of the water is gone(a little dirty, but dry, and clean enough for those 'in-between-hand washes). At that point in time, I know the paint is nowhere near 'clean', but it's good enough. If I have time, this is when I QD the car with ONR.

Good luck!

I know what your feeling!

I Zaino'd my car I think around March, and ever since then, all I have to do a a quick 4 min through the quarter wash. After, just cruise down the road at about 40mph for about 30 seconds, and .... where did all the water go?
