Default Stepping down from Orange pad

Quick question:

I'm doing a Berlina that I will more than likely polish with an Orange pad and Menzerna Final polishII.

Will I need to follow up with the FPII and a white pad? In other words will the orange pad leave a haze on black?

Which brand orange pad are you using? Each manufacturer has different color codes...

the answer for me would be "just do it" -
and you will see. if you dont have full gloss after your orange pad /swirl remover, you could step down the pad- you could also finish with a glaze and a non aggressive pad.
there is a chance that your pad and remover combo will work just fine.
my recollection is that the menzerna that you are using is a very light swirl remover, so my guess is that you will be fine... but worst case, a step down should do the trick.
do they recommend a more aggressive pad (like your orange)?

any time you are trying something new, do it on a lower panel of the car first to test it out... from that you will know what works best for the rest of the car (assuming that you are doing a full polish)

They recommend a white pad for light swirls. After doing my car (Sebring) with white pad, it greatly improve the swirls but did not take them fully away.

I will test a spot with the white pad first. I just wanted to check to see if it's always necessary to step down from orange to white.
