Default swirls happen!

this morning i noticed some sprinkler drips on my hood when i parked the car at the office (must have been from the home garage door- i did notice that the door was wet when i parked last night, but it was dark and i did not see the drips on the car)... grabbed out my handy quick detail wipes and took care of the spots- a bit tough and i am glad i had wacko training!!
grabbed the mf that was in my trunk to clean up the moisture from the wipes, and noticed that it was an mf that i did not remember putting there, but didnt worry about it.
as i wiped i noticed a wackos nightmare in my paint... slight scratches (swirls) from the rag !!!
looked at the rag carefully and noticed that it was one i had not used before- and did not know anything about it (my wife was prob being "nice" and exchanged one in my trunk for a clean one)... but i could tell that the stitching was suspect.

prob one of the most frequent pms that i get is "how do i avoid swirls?"...
we all have tips to avoid swirls.

and as i always say- "swirls happen!"... even to us experienced wackos-
and this is just an example of how they can happen.

moral to the story- always know your rags, and know who put them there !!!

(you know what i will be doing this weekend... a spot swirl removal !!)

Even my best mf's will scratch if pushed. It happens, that's why they make polishes

is it possible to remove swirls around the whole car by hand? (instead using one of those buffers)

yes... no prob for "spot removal"- but i would not recommend this for an entire car. been there done that and had my hands and arm fall off and in pain for several days- and i still did it more than once!!
then i bought the machine and kicked myself several times for allowing all that pain!
(polishing is unlike anything else you can do to a car- you gotta work and work and work the product until it dusts... several hours- by machine its no big deal, but by hand it is a really big deal)

my advice (if you hang out here you have seen this) is to post up in your local forum for someone who has the machine to help you out... you supply products and refreshments and they supply the machine and know-how. this is prob one of my most popular suggestions (many thanks from folks who have done this)-
