Touchup vs. repaint: need advice
Hi, all. I could really use some advice from the wise and experienced folks on this board.
I got four small paint chips and a scratch on my new S2K by driving to work on a lousy highway with construction going on.
My insurance company is covering the damage and suggests a full repaint of the fender and the door, which would involve removing the mirror, molding, handle, S2000 molding, etc. It might even require removing the door.
That seems like an awful lot of "damage" to do to a new car to fix some minor spots. I'm worried that it won't ever quite fit back together right and that the paint won't match over time.
Would it be better to just get someone to professionally touch up the five spots in question? I know that wouldn't be perfect, but it would avoid the major repaint.
It's not about money since insurance is paying (although I get to keep the difference if I choose a lesser repair option). It's about protecting my six-week-old baby.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Anyone had this dilemma before?

Wassup w/ these piss poor roads in CA?
I got a few tiny rock chips in my hood and I am waiting for my SBP touch up paint to come in the mail. Then I am gonna take my car to a professional detailer and have them repair the chips.
