If you have compressor just use compressed air with a nice nozzle on the end of the hose, otherwise a lot of detailer shops sell blowers, probably the best way to get the water out, you aren't going to stop it from getting into the crevices. Ive used compressed air on my car and it gets water out of the smallest crevices quite well.

Id rather use a blower than something that contacts the paint - all the wiping down of the paint can't be good for it

I really hope you're not just wiping off dirty rain water with a towel. You're most likely marring the hell out of your paint by dragging dirt across it.

Ideally, you should just wait til it dries and use a quick detailer. Spray liberally and dry.

If you really wanna be anal about it, don't ever wipe to dry. Place towel over the area and pat. This minimizes dragging any dirt particles across the paint.

The blower is def a good idea. I've been meaning to pick one up.

Hair dryer works but it takes a little while. Lol.

But yea.. Garage is the best investment for keeping your car clean.
