Thumbs up washing the car for the first time...

Hi all i need some advice please to know what to do....
finally i will have my car...it will only take one more month...im very demanding and i told to the dealer that i would only want him to take out the plastics and nothing more and doing the rest of the PDI. He was refering to some protection wax that is hard to take out and only can be taken out by them there...this is true or false?
if that exist the protection wax can i take it off at home?

the reason why i dont want them to wash and polish the car is because i went to the showroom and all the cars have swirl marks and not small...

thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Dennes.

p.s. i already have all the zaino products waiting for her in the garage (zfx, z2, z5, z6, z7, z10, ...)

E pa! A primeira coisa que avias fazer e tirar essa bandeira grega do teu sinatura!

OK, if the dealer is trying to sell you some wax that they want to apply to your brand new S, i would say no! Do a polish and wax in say a few months. Its a brand new car, new paint. So there is no need for polish and wax yet! Besides, it sounds like they have some bad detailers working there. I would polish and wax the car after driving her for a few months. Or even do it in the winter.

A big from the USA! I will be there in Augosto

There isn't any special wax on the car that I know of. I bought mine brand new and I don't think there was anything like this on it when it arrived. Only the plastic film that they peeled off before I drove it home. Besides, you should be able to strip off any wax that may already be on the car. I think they're making stuff up. If it were me I'd simply have them take off the plastic, but not have them wash it. From the sounds of things their detailers aren't any good anyway. Do it when you get home and you have access to your detailing products.

There is indeed a special wax on the car and it does involve harsh chemicals to remove the glue/wax. I know because I said that I wanted the plastic left on mine and for them not to touch it. Your Honda dealer might not allow this (mine wouldn't as they can't pdi the paint. And how would they know if it was your removal that caused the damaged). honda supply the chemicals to remove the wax.

You should and can polish immediately on collection. Your paint although new has been baked at the factory and this was done a while ago now so all should be fine. Your paint will not bubble as it might if you had paint applied after an accident as this hasnot been baked. Applying a sealant then will cause the paint to bubble under it as lets off its vapours

You could PDI it yourself at the dealership. I know of at least one guy over at Autopia did the PDI himself at the Mercedes dealer. He picked up some of the plastic remover online and did it in their serice bay.

Usase they are worst that you probably think...and in black if you have sunlight in the paint you will see what you want not to see swirls lots of them...

robs_silver_s2k i know...i asked them and they say that they cant pdi the paint so they will take off the plastic..i wash the car to my responsability and i dry it and they will do the pdi to the paint

animeS2K i would like to do that myself the problem is that they dont let us see the pdi sheet so we dont know...i have some idea because i saw the american one and the british but those were from the 99-03 model and i cant find anything from the +04..so i will let them do it and then i ask for all the plastics and things they take off and i will collect them all and from a photocopy of the pdi

Thank you all,
Dennes.
