Default Water spots from hell!!!

Ok I give up!! I can not get the water spots off of my friends Supra. We have tried everything that I have ever seen mentioned. Clay bar, polishing compound, vinegar, any other suggestions?

rubbing alcohol, in small amounts seems to do it. But that will also strip wax off the car. Use at your own risk....

Thanks for the link. I have been thinking about getting a porter cable for a while. Now I may have to talk my friend into getting one. Thanks again

Depends if the waterspots are under the clear coat. Yes, sometimes this happens. A friend had this problem with his s4, and he can't do anything about it.

Well they showed up right after we had a little rain and then it was really hot for the rest of the day, so I am pretty sure they are water spots. My friend at work said that if the paint job on the car was crap then it may have damaged the clear coat. We used a polishing compound, but I put it on by hand.

reminder that any polishing compound also removes any other protection that you have on the car (wax, synthetic, etc.)-
so, dont forget to rewax after polishing!

I don't think you have waterspots on the car, per se.

Judging from your description of rain followed by heat, what I think you have is an etching of a waterspot on the clearcoat. That means the damage is set. Rubbing compound should take that out.
