Default waxing on new cars

I just picked up my S last week, how long should I wait before I polish/wax it?

I waited until the next day when the sun was up and I could see what I was doing. Don't wait, polish and wax it as soon as you can.

I'm surprised you guys would have told him that.. . what if he's got a wax from the dealership already on and he wants to use a polymer like Zaino ? .. then he'd have to go through our "usual" steps.. "dawn" > clay > z17 wash....etc. etc...

just being a "zaino-holic" :-)

I'm not surprised, since I do not use Zaino. It's a very good product, I just don't use it. I'm using what the Ferrari owners recommended, instead.

I would hope that his dealer sent his new car home with some sort of protection on the finish. I would be tempted to ask the dealer to see what they did, if anything.

boiler- i also used to use finish first... in fact, i have zaino over finish first!
i like them both and either is, imo, better than wax.
so vepas, we are suggesting that you also consider using a synthetic instead of wax...
or if you become a finish-aholic, like me and boiler, then you should check out
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=80578
(this discusses using wax over synthetics).
