windsheild vinyl removal

Default windsheild vinyl removal

has anyone removed there windsheild vinyl after the car was a few years old? i want to do it, just worried i will have two totally different colors on my car any experiences?

it was a common mod on the early cars... pretty sure that its not a big deal on the '05s either, but we can see if someone with a newer car can give us some input.
you just need some wd-40 or other glue remover to get any left overs off of the paint (usually not much to remove).
i assume that you mean the tape on the outside of the windshield...

yeah i am not worried about getting the vinyl off, i just was wondering if anyone has done it and noticed a significant difference in paint color from the paint under the vinyl that has not seen any sun to the paint on the car that has.

In '08, they took off the windshield tape . Except for the CR's

Originally, if you bought the car new with the hardtop option, the dealer was supposed to pull the tape so it would match. Berlina was the only colr without tape, for obvious reasons.

I know my old '02 was the same paint color under the tape.
