I bought a used ecu from wdmst8 , in november 2013 listed here as a 2003 ecu. I paid honda $210 to install and program this ecu and found out later when my fuel was cut at 8200 rpm its for an AP2 04/05. Now I'm out $285.

anyway don't buy from this joker.

What are the fourth, fifth, and sixth characters of the VIN?

 

'AP1' ....... Not sure it matters if the seller had his car's (MY03) vin programmed to it.

 

If the VIN on the ECU has AP1 in it, then it is indeed from at least a 2000-2003 vehicle, not an 04-05 as you're claiming.

 

This is not difficult to understand guys. THE VIN IS PROGRAMABLE. The seller obviously programmed his chassis vin from his ap1 into this 04/05 ECU and overwrote the original vin. So the vin says ap1, but the fuel/ignition map says ap2 (and is really sluggish) and still cuts off at ~8200 RPM.
