has s2ki gone downhill?

The inescapable truth is that people come to a discussion forum to discuss their problems not to read about them in a FAQ. Sure some people look stuff up if they don't feel like talking but you never see them because they don't post about it right?
Again I benefit from having the numbers. We serve 30 million pages a month to 250,000 unique visitors and there are about 5000 active posters making about 16,000 posts per day on average. Not everyone is posting which means there are far more people reading and searching than posting stupid questions already asked. Your opinion is colored by what you see but you are looking at the world through a microscope.

s2ki has not gone downhill. It's the same as it always has been, and if not, then please describe specifically how. What bothers me is when people say that because the S2000 is becoming more affordable it is attracting a younger crowd that won't contribute to the site like the older crowd that supposedly started this deal did, when in reality topics like this create more of a negative and deteriorating atmosphere than any of the incessant posts that some of you complain about oh so often. Assumptions are: a) younger people can't possibly contribute to S2KI like older members can, and b) Those posts I mentioned that are covered by stickies are made by a the people that are younger or not as well off financially (only now being able to afford one), and are seen as inferior is some way, shape, or form.
The growth of S2KI is a beautiful thing, and if those constant posts that (on this site are few and far between, relatively) really bother you that much, then open your eyes and realize that they are an inherent part of any online forum whether it be automotive, gardening, or otherwise.

It truly is a great site. It has changed, but that isn't a bad thing.
Well I am thankfull for all the advice people give, good or bad. I have had mine only a few months and I know how passionate I am about my S. It is good to see others sharing my exictment. thanks everyone.
Geez-
Are you guys talking S2ki old or old in general? I'd hate to see the AARP police banging down Red's shop door!
Seriously, a little caution mixed with common courtesy and civility goes a long way toward promoting an enjoyable community whether online or in person. I hope we will all live up to that.
As far as separating the wheat from the chaff only time will tell. My advice to the noobs is to read the stickys and find a mechanic you can trust if you don't want to work on your car yourself.
That's coming from one who prefers not to bust his own knuckles anymore.

Opinions are one thing, but many people pass off their so called opinions, as facts, and THAT, we dont like.

some of the older members have not considered before.
