What's Happening To This Community?
It's not just the kids and the reduced cost of entry, but the car has been out of production for 3 years now, the community is naturally going to fade a bit during that time.
Despite the decline, it's still a great community with great people and years of accumulated knowledge on the car.

ding ding ding...
winner winner.
ppl aren't asking exorbitant price for HTs, just because. It's supply and demand. You can't buy one new! Same with CRs, same with CR lips, same with late model s2ks
you can't assume an owner is an elitist just because they own JDM but hey do like to showoff. Tell me one time on FB someone is not bragging about what they own, who they know, or what they are doing?
you make this community what it is. Take what you want and leave what you want
Ignorance is bliss

This community has changed a bit from 5 years ago when I first bought my S but it's still a great car community. There's alot of young owners now and the gallery is full of hellafail but overall I think most owners are cool enthusiasts.
I'm both a new and old member.
I'm new because I just picked up my CR last month, and am having a great time surfing old threads and learning more and more about my new toy.
I'm old because I've been a registered member since 2002, back when the car was mostly owned by older people and the S2K was a new and expensive sports car.
I've owned a lot of past cars, and have seen the car forums I've belonged to slowly morph and evolve due to the drop in price and increase in assessibility (300ZX, SC400, GTRs, M3's, M5's). Its an inevitable thing. If it gets you hung up, then you're the kind who need to change cars constantly to the latest, greatest and expensive. If you truly love the car you own and want to be with like-minded people, you should be OK with the members, whatever their taste.
If you see another S2000 on the road, don't you naturally acknowledge them? Same should be on the forums.
Cheers,
John

Like others have alluded to, there's a big divide between two groups: generally/relatively older owners with stock S2Ks or properly modified S2Ks that use correct grammar and appreciate the car's purpose AND generally/relatively younger owners with "hellaflush" and "dope" nonsense modifications that don't know/use correct grammar and don't get the car.
The divide is mainly a result of S2Ks getting older and less expensive. I find the second group sort of embarrassing to the community, but will never let my love for S2Ks waver.

rather, those who bashed the parts based on their prices alone simply because they couldn't justify the purchase (whether they can't afford it or they don't think its worthwhile) without even consider how much development hours spent on producing the item.
