Why Don't Moderaters Moderate.
We just try to do the best we can, I know that we can't please all of you. I try to be objective, and you may have noticed, since becoming a mod, I don't take sides, or post my thoughts on many subjects that I used to.
And Mav, I just don't get you. What exactly is your point of saying we don't want to upset bin laden supporters?
If you truely believe this, then as one member to another, I think you're on the wrong forum.
Did it occur to you that polotics is a touchy subject? do you realize that there are people from all over the world here to enjoy this forum, NOT just Americans?
I don't want to get into this again. My post up top stands.
We have rules here simple as that.
The most important thing is that EVERYBODY who come here enjoys themselves. This is why we talk about cars.
If you want to continue this please PM me.
Mike
PS. Jeff....I'm watching you

I've always preffered shunning and shaming to "moderating" and censoring. Consensual standards generally (including here) seem to be reasonable.
Moderators are often just an excuse for one to avoid speaking up when offensive posting is occuring. Those who complain about posts should be empowered and complain in the thread. Often, we find that the person is insensitively (rather than offensively) behaving and just needs a reminder about our community standards or an explanation about how certain messages have offensive meaning. Most everyone here is decent.
Depending on moderators to enforce standards leaves the standards in the hands of a few. Secondarily, it gives greater power to anonymous complainers. Great boards have been lost to this strategy.
Gee Whiz, I'm sounding more like a Quaker every day...
