Amuse exhaust problem
I believe the only way to "weld" titanium to stainless is to use inertia welding, and this is definitely not something you'll find at a typical shop... it takes some big (read, expensive) machines to do it.
I have reached a very fair agreement with Bulletproof for a new exhaust.
The option of replacing my resonator section with a stainless steel pipe is not an option in my mind. IMO thats a major ghetto rig and if I'm going to fix, I'm going to fix it right. Your opinion will differ from mine and thats fine. I'm not doing it.
Besides finding a 60mm Ti pipe is the easy part. Finding a Ti welder to weld the piece in, regardless if its Ti or stainless steel, is the hard part.
Thanks for your help and info.

Hi there, I live in Portland, OR and I am a Titanium Welder for a Aerospace Manufacture. All of my welding is done on internal engine pieces for the US gov and Boeing customers, PWA and GE to name a few. All of my welds are X-ray Quality. if you could send me some pics of the repair maybe we can work something out. Tony
