This past weekend I drove to Maryland for business. I was cruising all the way at around 70 MPH - 85 MPH at some parts, well I chose one wrong part to go 84 MPH (Thats what the ticket says) I really don't recall the speed I was cruising but oh well. The point is as I was passing by Georgia I got pulled by a trooper for going 84 MPH on a 65 MPH zone. It was around 2 a.m. or so. The cop gave me the ticket really fast and I went my merry way as quickly as possible to make up time. As I was driving later that morning I decided to see what the ticket say and to my surprise I found a couple of mistakes. My first name was John instead of Jose and the date instead of Sept. 29th was Sept. 9th. Also no amount was pointed out in the ticket. (I guess thats the way they work in other states). I was thinking in letting it be and not worry about it because some people have told me that if its out of state as long as I don't get in trouble in that state again it would be fine but I can't risk my insurance to go up for some stupidity. I don't know what to do... Anyone has any ideas how can I resolve this issue and if the ticket is valid with those errors on it?

I think the cop was out of it, he sounded pretty tired. Like he was drinking or did before going on duty.

I think everyone here who has been through georgia either on liesure or business could have told you NOT TO SPEED! LOL. I know whenever I go up to GA, which is about 4 to 5 x's a year is as soon as it says "Welcome to Georgia" my Speed goes from 80/85 to 70! Worse thing is them damn GA Cop cars are dark grey/blue so you can't see 'em until it's TOO LATE!

Anyway, about your ticket you can try calling the county inwhich you got the ticket. But so i've heard that in georgia it is vertually IMPOSSIBLE to get out of a ticket. So good luck and start calling GA State Troopers or that county!

Why not try contacting one of those ticket clinics that claims it'll fight the ticket for $69 (or whatever the price is)?

Or ask Mav who his attorney is.

My understanding is that if info on the ticket is not correct (ie. date, speed, name) that the ticket is null and void. I do believe it would have to be fought in court. but if the ticket has the wrong date, you can prove you were not there at the time...

talk to a lawyer to be sure. I'm sure there are ticket clinic type places in Georgia.

I thought about saying I was not there on that date but the judge is going to be like : Well how come you have the ticket? Thanx for the advise guys, I will most probably get some sort of lawyer from the area that can help me out.

Thats what I had in mind but I have a little problem, its in Georgia I think at the end Im going to end up paying an attorney.
