Default V1 Hardwire/Install...

So Im getting pretty tired of having this cord running from the center console to the windshield.

I've found some pretty stealth V1 installs in the Electronics Forums and at the very least I want to hard wire it (run a wire up the windshield, through the A-pilar and to power).

Any shops locally that yous guys would recommend to do either task?

Did you do it yourself or have a shop do it?

Anyone have recommendations for a shop?

You could try doing it yourself, I'm sure there's a DIY for it. A shop would probably charge you $$$ for that.

I'm in the same boat, need to hardwire my passport. The old coiled power cord finally started wearing through. I've had the hardwire kit for a couple of years, just never got the motivation to hook it up.

VeilSide AP1 - I really appreciate the offer. Being new to the S2K community down here, it's nice to have people eager to help.

FWIW - I talked to a place up in WPB called TechniCar (www.technicar.com)... I had met the owners at a RennTech BDay party a few months back, grabbed a biz card from him and just dug it up.

They specialize in doing V1 Installs in the rear view mirrors for RennTech and others... So I'm gonna cruise up there this weekend or next to see what they can cook up for me... If it's just out of budget or not to my liking, I'll probably fall back on the hardwire route.

I'll keep ya posted.

Let us know what they say price-wise. I might be interested in that if it can be done in our cars and the price isn't too crazy.
