I can speak from experience here..you can survive a 150mph impact I am proof of that. I ran straight off at the end of the front straight at Heartland Park in Topeka Kansas...I was flat out in an F2000 car at 154mph slid through 100ft of grass and slammed into a concrete wall. I hit just about head on..Compression fractures in my back which took 6 months to recover from. The point of impact is not in that photo..unless you were there to see what happened I wouldn't place judgement..This just a case of what can happen on a track.

I guess it all depends how you hit. But 150mph basically head on into the wall. You're a lucky man!!

Very lucky...What I don't see here is why anyone isn't complaining about the track and its safety. Why wasn't there a tire wall to absorb impact? I moved one of those concrete sections about 12" with a 1175lb car. If there was a tire wall in front of it, I probably would of walked away and so might of these people. Just some food for thought.

point of impact is most likely right rear....

and look at the cockpit..it is fully intact and unintruded....i'd take that cockpit any day.

too bad...what a waste.

i wonder what type of waiver CMS uses/requires.

and lastly, that'll buff right out...
(since no one else said it)

Anyone see the pic of his little daughter sitting in the driver seat? Heartbreaking.
