comments from a porsche driver
Just wanted to let all you s2000 fanatics know that I rented one on a recent trip to Las Vegas and it was the most fun I've had in a car in a long time. If I wasn't already driving a '95 911 I would be ordering a 2002 model immediately. I had driven with a friend in his 2000 version but he has never taken the car over 5000 rpm. What a waste. Just like driving an Accord with handling. Great interior and very comfortable. The look is just aggressive enough imho.

That was me screaming in pain at the mere thought of owning a S2000 and never getting up into VTEC.

I've said, since the first day of owning the car, that I would only trade the car in for a Ferrari 355. Anything else, no. (and I don't want to hear any "You could see such and such car and buy 2 S2000"). The point is, I do not feel there is a better car out there and although I would never pay retail for a Ferrari, it would take a straight swap on a 355 for me to give it up. (The Z06 is a damned nice car, but they're big, use up tires, gas and don't come as a convertible)
That said, I'm considering selling the Stook for something that isn't a replacement.

Btw on the aforementioned trip to Las Vegas I also drove a C5. A big hunk of plastic that goes very fast in a straight line. It got around the corners fast enough but I never felt like I was in control. The s2000 felt like a fine surgical instrument and much more enjoyable to drive.
You would tire of the 355...imho
