Default Engine Light

I know some of the member have put the t1r test pipe and I am thinking to get one, but the thing that bothers me. Is the CEL gonna be on? and is there a way that it wont go on?

Whenever you eliminate the cat, of course you'll get a CEL. You'll need to utilize an O2 simulator. You can get an electronic one or a mechanical one. Go search at the top of the Under the Hood forum to find an FAQ on this.

search forums for "Berk Technologies" test pipe. no CEL comes on.

I only recommend it for track use with an aftermarket exhaust.

This is not necessarily true. There have been many posts here from people who have put on the Berk test pipe. Their built in "non-fouler" is of a poor design and doesn't always guarantee a "no CEL".

Interesting, I've had mine for quite a while and never had a problem with it. Maybe I just got lucky.

They don't all throw a CEL, but the instances of ones that do, is way too often for a specialty product that costs what it does. It is the only product of its kind (with a built in non fouler) that has a history of throwing a CEL.
