Default I need an ENGINE!

I'm pretty sure I spun a bearing on my AP1 and it was burning/losing a lot of oil anyway. I'm ready to swap in an F22 but I can't find any. Missed a few opportunisties on Kijiji last summer and now there are no engines to be seen, very few on Ebay as well. Plus I'd rather buy locally then try and get one shipped from the US. If anyone is selling an F22 or knows of one for sale please let me know... I'm missing top down weather already.

Why not do a rebuild? Then you know where you are with the motor.

I was wondering this myself actually - but numerous shops told me it's much more expensive to do a re-build then to swap in another motor. I've never done either, so I don't really know. Have you ever done a rebuild or know of any places that you would recommend?

Find yourself a F22 and enjoy the extra bit of torque.

That's what I'm doing if my F20 ever takes a poop.

I know "finding" seems to be the hard part though. At least locally. But even on Ebay there are few choices. It feels like being on a donor list waiting for a wrecked Ap2.

Rebuild will be riskier - I would buy a used f22 but be sure to compression and leak down test it (or some kind of money back guarantee?)

went through this last year,
Ended up finding a mint low km engine through a engine rebuilder.

Talk to him for some ideas, hes a really good guy.

I also checked car-part.com frequently to look for engines

Np!

Car-part.com is useful, I almost ended up buying a F22 from Vancouver. They were going to ship it for $2400 to my mechanic. But I found the mint one locally for less

Also remember, the places you contact through car-part are usually negotiable, most places I called were willing to work out a deal.

Sweet, that sounds like a great price. Anywhere in that ball park is what I was hoping for.
