Very interesting Nimesh, thanks.

I'm driving the CRX-SiR today (S is in for a bunch of little stuff before my next driving school) and I was reminded just this morning about the S2000 steering. I can keep my hands at 10/9 and 2/3 and just turn to opposite lock and I can make it all the way up the parking ramp garage. In the CRX-SiR I have to shuffle my hands because if I don't the car will not make the corner. I can't imagine how cool the Type V would be out on the track!!!

At The Glen I'm finding I really don't like the electronic power steering going up The Esses. The determined "weight" in the wheel is way higher than I would like. In the CRX-SiR I can fly up there using just the lghtest touch of my finger tips on the wheel, this allows me to let the car find its own way. In the S I have to get more of a grip on the wheel because it takes more energy to turn the wheel and I can't feel it enough to let it find its own way. I know that may sound strandge going up hill flat out at 100+ mph, but believe me it feels so much better when the car sort of finds its own way without a lot of imput. All the other corners on the track don't bother me, but up through The Esses that electronic power steering sucks to me...

see, i don't find the S2000 steering feel to be heavy AT ALL.

there's no power steering fluid for the S, right?

at the track or highspeeds on the highway, the S just takes "the lightest touch of my finger tips" to steer.

of course i don't have any other car to compare it to - other than our other cars - but that's only a street comparison.

For the most part I agree, it is in just that one situation where it feels heavy to me. I was taught one of the fastest ways up the hill was to drive with your fingertips and not induce any extra scrubbing into the front tires, but the S just does not have that beautiful lightness the CRX-SiR's manual steering box has. In this case, older is better.

Yes, no fluids, just electronics.
