Sorry in advance for the noob question - new ap2 owner - but is it normal for the s2000s engine bay get naturally hotter than most cars? It definitely hotter than the last 4 cars ive owned. I'm popping the hood after short 15 min drives without going past 6k rpm and its almost steaming even in today's cooler weather. The temperature gauge consistently hovers at around 8ish out of 20? Bars

Edit: I should add I've put in a sound/vibration absorbent layer under the hood liner. I've read some ppl reporting their gauges never going above 3 bars while the consensus is that the s2000 does run hotter.

Wait until summer rolls around, it gets very hot under the hood. I got rid of the hood insulation on my oem hood to get air flowing underhood, not sure if your hood liner helps, hurts, or makes no difference ?. I've since gone to a vented hood, and it makes a huge improvement, you can actually rest your hand on the intake manifold after a drive. Your coolant temps are normal, but underhood temps and intake temps can get very high on these cars, and unrelated to coolant temps.

Kinda wanna sell my GSR to grow up a little and get another TSX... I kinda miss how comfy and boring it was, LOL.

But at the same time I feel like I should keep the GSR to be fiscally responsible, because the TSX I want is 7k and I'll be lucky to get 4k for the GSR - the difference is pretty much 75% or more of a paint job for the S2k.

Growing up sucks. Wait to do that when you are married, have fun until then, so keep the GSR.
