I need TINTS!
Hey Guys,
Im new to Tampa as I just moved from Miami and I am in serious need of new tints! Does anyone know where I can go for a reasonable price? My car has never had tints before and ppl around here are trying to charge like $140. I'd rather take a road trip home and get it done for $55 at my parents house than pay that BS price. Any help will be much appreciated!

I went with high end film and it was $140 out the door with a lifetime warranty. If you can get it done for 55 I would say make the trip. But I would question the quality of the film they are installing and the warranty

Hey Khris....here is my 2 cents and ....I hope that you can you use this tidbit for the rest of life.............not any kind of personal attack, just a personal opinion about how many times I have been burned when only using the "price point" as a reason to select............
No matter what service you may need, you will always get what you pay for (car, home, dress, etc....). Somehow, at the "bottom" end of a day's service call, all of us want to make a standard for what we are thinking we are worth for a day's wage. Add to that, the business burden of Workers Comp, General Liability, Lease/Rent, shop supplies, etc....all of the goods that make a legit business. So, to your point, I know for a fact that the best film will be dead cost at $35-40 bucks for our cars. But, somebody had to be trained and they should be comp'd for their expertise. Not to mention the above stated cost of running a real business with Insurance and taxes paid. No matter what you may think, this is what runs the "real world". So, the question is, if you were properly trained and thought that you were a real industry professional, would you do any of our cars on the side, at your garage for $55 bucks, turnkey ?? Doubt it...........
And for the record, the State of Florida is still the only place wher you can still get full window tint for under $150 bucks. A very close personal friend just opened up another new shop in GA and MS and they get a minimum $260 for any 5 window car, adding more $$$ for mini-vans and SUV's. And he has a waiting line at the door every day. We've all seen what the bargain-basement crap looks like after 1-2 years. Wrinkles, fading, etc..........
Always buy the best, demand the best, pay for the best and expect the best.............you will never have to worry about the drama associated with "discount pricing". There is always a reason why it's that cheap. We don't drive "cheap" cars. Please maintain it and mod it by the standard that sets us apart from those who don't unsderstand how special this car really is.

Thanks for the tips guys!
zacksdad2: I highly appreciate how well you presented your argument. I apologize to you guys if I came off as just wanting to go for the cheapest bidder but from my personal experience back home every shop Ive been to offers lifetime warranty, and while I can never make the argument that a hand cut tint is comparable to a computer, I have never had nor heard of an issue with doing tints by hand (again, from my experience). Tampa is the first place were Ive heard someone use the words "computer cut tint". Therefore, the reason I just cannot comprehend paying over $100 is simply because I have had nothing but great experiences with shops charging between $55-85 and I have never even needed to seek the warranty relief because my tints were great.
Hope that clears up my questions...also I made the mistake of selling my s2k and Im looking for tints on my 05 accord haha. Hence, Ive lost the motivation to get "top of the line" parts and Im fully riding this economical route.
