I should have mentioned, in my S proper positioning requires I crank the mirrors all the way out on both sides. It has on most of the cars I have driven.

The manufacturers haven't made this easy. But a blind spot can get your car wrecked!
I'd actually like to have just a bit more on the driver's side. I've been meaning to get a convex mirror but haven't gotten around to it.

And lest we forget - it's not a bad idea to turn your head a bit and look for confirmation before you make that lane change or merge into traffic from an angle. I haven't found any way to completely eliminate blind spots with the top up.

I did what you recommended a little bit. And although it does eliminate the blind-spot, it makes me apprehensive of trusting the mirrors for some reason. I think a lot of people like to see part of their cars just for a frame of reference if nothing else. Im going to stick with it, because I know that Im actually making things better, but its just harded to "believe" per se.
