Default coilover question

Alight, I'm getting ready to buy coilovers for my car and after extensive research I am still unsure of what to buy.

Here are some things that I am looking for:

1. Improved performance. I do not track my car but I want some improvement over stock suspension.

2. Reliability. I'm in college and a lot of times do not feel like dealing with car shit, so I would prefer that these coilovers last a couple of years. Unlike the D2 Racing set I had on another car.

3. Price. Nothing overkill, probably under $1,500.

Can any of you guys give me some suggestions?

Also, has anyone used the megan racing coilovers? Because I have read mixed reviews.

Thanks for your help.

I ran the Megans for a few months. I had no complaints about them. Granted there's much better out there but for my budget they were sweet. Brad aka NVMY4N is running them now. I don't think he's got any issues with them either.

Under 1500$ allows you a pretty good amount of choices too.

You can get a lot for under $1500.

The Bilsteins PSS9 new are like $1300 and are excellent. Used KWv3's you can find for probably around $1500. Also like Pete said the Megan's aren't bad at all for the $.

Lots of options in this range.

I'm running jake's old Zeal Function B6's and I love them.

check the FS forums, you'll be able to find a lot of great used sets for under 1500.

i have pss9's and i couldn't be happier. i have the set up +7 in the front and +8 in the rear (1-9, 1 being the stiffest). I bought these knowing that i'll hardly track them and wanted a good setup w/o sacrificing comfort.

Performance? Have you met/exceeded the performance of the vehicle yet? If you want price & reliability, stock suits just fine.
