Coming back from B-n-C last night
So like the tittle states I'm down to 2 bars in my fuel gauge and 25 minutes out from home. I pull out on exit 19 on my way back to Campbell and decided to stop in a Shell station. The gas station was closed but the pump was accepting cc. So I try to start pumping and the quick release from the hose busted. So gas starts coming out of the pump and there is no emergency stop anywhere to be found. I'm getting showered in gas and I notice the screen where it says how much I'm paying is gradually rising. Well I'm freaking out cause by this point it is past $45.00 and no sign of slowing I'm starting to think that oh well there goes whatever is left out of my deployment money. I open my passenger door while gas is still pouring out put the car in neutral and proceed to push it out of the way. Needless to say the pump stopped at $75.00. So I'm drenched in gas my left back panel was completely drenched and a few drops hit my car plus at this point I still have no fuel.
Well to make a long story even longer took my jacket off put it on the trunk. Proceeded to drive off got high on gas till I hit the next station ( made it). There was a cop there I filed a report. Well made it to post hosed off my car off. Took a shower called my cc company and canceled the charge , but now my interior smells a little bit like gas.
Sorry for the rant, but it ruined an otherwise freaking perfect night. SOB SOB SOB
moral of the story look for the emergency shut off valve before fueling up.
