i usually run 5-6k miles on synthetic

 

Call me old fashioned, but I still change ~3000 miles. Usually before 3500 but sometimes a little more.

 

your wasting money changing synthetic that early.... mineral oil yes... 3000.... synthetic.... you can run longer...

 

Roughly how much longer? Also, what would you say would be the longest that you would let your car go on one oil change. Money's tight remember. After Christmas everything will be back to normal.

 

If you haven't made the synthetic switch, 3000 miles.

 

I wouldn't go over 4k max on mineral oil in a worse case scenerio.... synthetic cost twice as much to use but lasts twice as long.. so you should figure in how much you drive to see how often you really wanna change your oil... I say synthetic...but once you go synthetic don't ever run mineral oil again... chances of blowing rings are great when you do that

 

thanks Dark. That was some very important information. I've owned my car for almost two years and I already have over 39K miles.

 

I drive mine a lot too.. which is why I'm wanting a second car and selling this S.. I'd just keep putting some Mobil 1 Synthetic 10w30 in it and change it every 6k miles.. keep a watch out for how dirty the oil gets.. if it starts getting too dark before 6k just change it then.. glad to have helped
