Default Planning trip to Chattanooga

Hello everyone! As the heading says, I'm currently planning on a trip to Chattanooga probably the first or second week of June. I'm just wondering if anyone has any input on things to do or see.

I've been when I was much younger, but we didn't do that many things. I've been to Ruby Falls, Lost Sea, and went on Lookout Mountain, but don't really remember it since I was young. I'll definitely go back to all the Lookout Mountain attractions. I'm also thinking about possibly canoeing and hiking. Are there mountain bike rentals in the area? If there is anything that is a MUST DO when I go, please inform me! Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Good timing on coming to Chattanooga. They have just finished putting the final touches on a huge riverfront expansion. The have added a saltwater aquarium to the freshwater and also added to the Hunter Museum.

Riverbend will be June 10-18 and is a huge outdoor concert and festival. Here is a link to the activities Riverbend Link

Kid Rock is the June 10 opening act...I will be at SESM in Huntsville that weekend.

Traffic downtown will be crazy during this time.

Outdoor activities are all around. Cloudland Canyon State Park has some nice trails. Also check with Rock/Creek Outfitters for info on rental stuff.

Chattanooga Lookouts have a minor league baseball team with a great stadium.

Great drives all around if you are bringing the S.

PM me the dates of your trip and I will try to help you out with lodging plans and places to eat...etc...

Thanks,
Bill

I will be down in Chatanooga for a conference. I am actually flying in tomorrow and leave on Tuesday. I don't think I will have too much time to look around. Howeve, saltwater aquarium seems like an interesting venue. Thanks for this thread. Excellent information.

I just got back from Chattanooga, TN. It is a charming city. I was very impressed with the downtown layout. Free shuttle service (electric mini-bus) provided by the city is fantastic. Drivers were very courteous and friendly. This is a definite vacation spot. Downtown Marriott was fabulous.

I enjoyed myself very much. Chattanooga is definitely a lovely place to visit. It's packed with many attractions that can keep anyone busy. Next time you're nearby try out the white water rafting
