Default UPDATED Timing Chain Tensioner on its way out? UPDATED

Started noticing a faint tick while driving next to all the short walls on Concord... Got in the garage and took some audio of it. What do you guys think? TCT?

It only does when warm.

UPDATE: Just changed out and put in Billman's TCT. "Card in spokes" noise is gone and car sounds much smoother but I still have this higher-pitched clicking. It could be normal but after hearing the TCT for nearly a month I don't remember what normal is...

Here's new audio of the sound with the new TCT. Car is fully warmed up and just changed oil (Castrol Edge 10w-30).

Hmmm... It does make a lot of noise to not go very fast

Do I need to adjust the valves? I've got under 50k and really don't like DIY'ing that type of thing on a DD.

If you're less than 50K, you shouldn't need a valve adjustment....I have heard of TCT's going bad in as little at 15K miles.....I have no idea how, but I have heard of it. The S2000 valve train is pretty noisy compared to other vehicles...so it could be just that. However, from your video, it sounds a little abnormal. Tough to say for sure though. Usually the TCT will get REALLY noisy before it's absolutely necessary to replace. There is also a DIY out there to rebuild yours which may be worth looking into. I plan on just rebuilding mine when mine goes "bad"

I just saw the part where you stated it only does it when warm. I agree that it's most likely the TCT. If you have someone who can do sandblasting (small parts) you can rebuild yours for basically nothing and some people have had really good results with just rebuilding theirs.
