Default Breakin engine with a supercharger?

First I would like to say thank you for your impute and your time. My s2k 02 has been down for a few months it will be running again by saturday. I would just like some impute I have read so many forums on this subject but I have not read anything about anybody breaking in a engine with a supercharger. I will use either halvoline 10w30 or castrol gtx 10w30 and valvoline synpower oil treatment.

I read some interesting info while breaking in the engine it would be good to get a little pressure in there and was recommended full throttle hits at 3rd or 4th from 2000-4000 rpms and around 500-1000 miles full throttle at 3rd or 4th from 2000-5000.

I am thinking of changing the oil around 1000 miles and slowly introduce vtec sorry this is so long but if you could kindly give me some impute if have the supercharger at first would hurt this car in the long run or what i have planed will be good thank you for you time.

Personally, I would try to drive it as if it were a normally aspirated car before getting on it too hard. Try to stay out of boost for the first 500 miles until the rings get seated. After that point, start slowly raising the RPMs more and more very gradually. By the time you have 1,000 miles on it, I would say you should be okay to run it as hard as you want.

Did you rebuild the engine completely? If so, then I completely agree with Ricky. Baby the engine and work up to that redline in strict increments. Drive as you would to break in a new clutch.

If you didn't hone the cylinders or change the rings, then break in can be alittle more dramatic for the car. The focus would be more on the Blower rather then the engine itself.

I have heard rumors about giving a couple full throttle runs on a fresh engine, as to give more radical seed to the cross hatch...but I'd rather be safe then sorry. Just my 2cents

Cool

wow kinda in the same boat right now.... in november i had a valve break and droped down into my block. i already had 335hp to the wheels, w/comptech sc on 9lbs pulley and aem computer.... since the motor blew i decided to gow/ a complete rebuild. so here goes this is what i'm running.... i sent the block out to alaniz tech in california they sleeved the block made clearance on the deck for 2004 crank as i have a 2001. also bored out and running forged arias pistons, cunningham rods. then i'm running better head gasket and had alaniz send me back w/ the block new stainless valves w/ ti retainers and some kind of different exhaust springs they run on their race s2000. oh yeah and the compression was dropped a little aswell.... while all that was going on i had the head at lozano bros. here in town port and polishing the head... then when alaniz was done i took it all back to lozano they assembled the short block then we put the rest back in the car now i finally got the car back two weeks ago and am trying to break in slowly. i've got a little over 200mile on it and i've changed the oil twice once after about 20miles and once at about 175. so i'm trying to wait until 1000 to hit vtech and boost but man i know there is a beast just waiting in there. it really sounds good though. i just ordered my straight pipe an am going to put that on soon aswell. when broken in i plan on getting a smaller pully and some bigger injectors.... well that is what mine has been up too...

Exclamation

yes the port and polish should make a difference the guys at lozano bros work on all types of race motors from top fuel nhra drag bikes to gtp race cars and much more and they did say that the head was already a work of art that they could tell the difference between the s2000 head an say a b16 for example however they were able to clean every thing up and it looked beautiful and was way smoother than stock. as for hp #'s don't know just yet, i'm probably going to put on the dyno tomorrow or rather today just for some minor tunning... it's running a little rich i also just put in some iridium ngk's so i'm hoping to clean it up a bit... till fully broken in then we'll do the proper tunning...... and yes i did just put on the full ing's+1 body kit... i previously had the veilside ver1 sold that to a friend with a spa. maybe you seen him it is spa w/ all black kit black trunk and gold volk te37... anyway just put the new black emblems on tonight aswell as the T1R racing straight pipe. not to loud just at full throttle... i'll soon post some pic's w/new kit
