Hi, I changed my engine oil about 6,000km ago and have checked the oil level a few times since then, when I checked it most recently the oil had almost completely dissapeared ...what can be causing this because there aren't any leaks

Yes. But I think it also depends on how many miles is on the engine. New engine will eat oil during break in process and broken in engine will eat very little even if it's engaging in VTEC a lot. My rebuild engine ate about .25 of a quart when I changed the oil at 700 miles. Since then, it has been about 1500 miles, and it's still full. Currently using Val 5W40 conventional. Will change to synthetic at 10000 miles mark.

 

Valvoline doesn't make a 5w40 conventional.

 

check oil often, fill it up when necessary. Honda recommends checking the oil every time you fill up the gas tank. personally I check it every 1,000 miles, or 1609 km.
