Rag Top
Anyone know how to disassemble the rag top. I need to drill out the rear rivets for the driver side strap. Can't get back there with a drill. Anyone out there with the knowledge and a rivet gun!
Thanks

Why do you need to drill it out? IF you're planning to replace the straps I hope you have seen this :

That's the problem. The passenger side had the OEM strap which I cut and used the Modifry strap. Works perfectly. The driver side had the rivets drilled out so I bought rivets from Home Depot and Honda put them in. The problem!
those rivets don't leave the hole the OEM rivets leave to put the pins in using Modifry. So, I need to drill those out and replace them with the OEM rivets I have now. ( I hope they leave the hole required for the Modifry)
Hope that makes sense.. I didn't know anything about the roof when I bought the car. Just something else Josh, (StoK) didn't tell me about. A royal pain in the a_s.

The OEM rivets wont fit. The holes sretch out and the replacement ones end up wiggling around in there. You have to bump up to the next size up.
Its not hard to peel the top back that far. Open it about 1/2 way. Undo all the screws holding in the panel along the front top part. Peel the rubber off the front two pieces by the windows and take all those screws out. There is a rivet at the front corner on both sides of the top holding in a metal tab. Drill it out. Use a screwdriver to pry the metal tab that holds the inside of the top in along that front bar. That should allow you to peel the top back far enough to drill out the strap rivets and replace the strap.
I honestly dont like the modifry strap. If you dont have a rivet gun and dont feel comfortable peeling the top back about half way I totally understand, but if you've got the tools you might as well do it the right way. Whole process would take about an hour honestly.

I want to do it the right way. I don't feel real confident with what you instructed. I'm afraid I will be doing damage and then it will be cost me more in the long wrong. If you have the time, case of beer?
