Does the computer track the # of VTECs?
I have a suspicion that the dealership VTEC'd my car before 600 miles. I was wondering if the ECU keeps track of this and if it's possible to retrieve that information. I've done a search without much success.
I doubt this. I vtec'ed my car before 600 miles. I don't see anything wrong with it.
I actually believe that to break in a car, you have to break it in hard. That is just my theory.

As others have stated above, the ECU does not count or keep track of the number of VTEC transitions or RPM data. However, if some of you are interested, I could be Motivated to come up with a 'black box' that could record the RPM/VTEC Transitions as well as the number of minutes/hours the engine has run and date/time stamp the information. For the Paranoid, you could install the 'black box' before you take your car in for service and instantly reveal to the service managers delight how he mistreated your car while it was in for service.
