Um.... care to elaborate on "several" Dale ??

Seriously, thanks for the info (no, not about your tickets). It reinforces my decision to remain NFP.

I keep my front plate in my trunk under the floor panel. I have had the car over 5 years and have never had any cop even question it. And I've been pulled over 4 times in 5 years. (only one ticket!)

I have 3 cars without front plates and no tickets.
I seems to be common in Cali not have a front plate.
I do not know of anyone getting a ticket???

You can always tell the cop that you just got the car out of the body shop for "x" reason and didn't have a chance to put the plate back on since the shop didn't do it for you.

please rememeber "x" reason should have something to do with the front bumper for whatever reason..and hopefully you have the plate with you somewhere..

Been in Houston since '82 without a front license plate (came with a 280ZX back then). Got stopped and warned a couple of times in the S2000 and last month got stopped downtown and ticketed for no plate. Fine was $90. Paid the fine and still without plate. At about $4.00 a year, I will shoot for 22 more years before I get the next ticket.

Hey Mark I use to have an eclipse as well and I got pulled over maybe 5 time and harassed about other thing because of no front license plate on it. Out of those 5 time I only got ticketed once. I still remember one night a year ago I got pulled over by a state trooper for no license plate and he gave me a warning and let me off. Being the stubborn fool that I am I left it off and got 3 more warning after that from different cops. Then a year later I get pulled over by another state trooper, I'm thinking he was gonna give me a warning again. But instead he went " didn't I pull you over a while back for this" I'm like " oh hell no this can't be him". So when I opened up my glove box to take out my insurance card he saw a ticket in it and ask me if he can see it. I was like sure then he looked at it and was like " I did pull you over for the same thing last year" and I was like oh . Ever since paying my $85 I always have the plate on now......

Heh... I actually just got pulled over yesterday, on I-10 in the middle of nowhere (where the hell is Mcnery, TX?). Local Sheriff did not have anything to do, I guess. Either that, or he was pissed that I passed him in a 75 mph zone by setting my cruise control to 76 mph.

Ossifer Friendly: "The reason I pulled you over today is that your car is registered in the state of Texas and you are missing a front license plate."

Me: "I'm sorry, officer, you see, they sent me the wrong car bra and I had to take the plate off to make it fit for this trip. I always have it on otherwise, and I have it in my trunk."

Ossifer Friendly: "I suggest you put it on as soon as possible. The state boys are more strict about this." [Leaves]

Me: "Yeah, whatever."

No ticket.
