Default Shift Knob Question

This may be a stupid question, but....I just purchased a Rick's Ti knob (thanks, Kirk) but I'm having a hard time getting it installed.

I have a '02 S2k with the stock aluminum/leather knob, and I can't get the damn thing off. The shift lever torques if I put too much effort into twisting off the knob, and I can't get the nut below the knob loose.

Any ideas?

Feeling stupid,

Dilshad

Use an adjustable wrench, unscrew the lock nut right under the stock knob, & then twist off the knob.

More info here, http://www.ricks2k.com/info/instructions/Ti_Voodoo.pdf

Jason,

I was hesitant to put to much force on that bolt. The entire shift lever was twisting, and the bolt wasn't budging.

But, I'll give it another shot tonight.

Thanks.

You're welcome, just push down the shift boot then you'll see the lock nut.

And if that fails, PM me and I will install it.
