Anybody else bog-race last night?
I was driving down Macarthur, close to 635 last night when that rain storm hit. I almost bogged
I have a better understanding why they call them flash floods. Came real quick

The storm that hit Arlington last night was described as "blinding rain". My S-02's are still providing good wet traction because the car slowed abruptly in a straight line (no "snap oversteer") when the water suddenly got deep. A few blocks later I witnessed a pickup struck by lightning. Having a brush with a bolt last October I decided to get home quickly. In the hard rain I failed to see the street had water over the curbs. I managed to plow through in first without killing the engine somehow. The car in front of me was creating a large wake (I was praying he wouldn't stop in front of me).
A few minutes later my girlfriend arrived. She said her Geo Tracker actually drifted while crossing the same spot. The water was about 10" deep curb to curb and flowing fast. This was just runoff from yards, no streams nearby.
It was over in a matter of minutes. Fortunately nothing like Houston.
