Default Convertible top issues

Ive got a 2001 with an original top and its finally starting to leak, have alot of windnoise, and the plastic window has a tear in it. My question is what would you guys do, replace/repair the top? Or get a hardtop? Ive looked around for pricing on the convertible top and its going to cost close to a grand with labor and all. If i was going to spend that kind of money is it worth doing it or just getting a used hardtop if anyone is willing to part with it?

Yeah riding top down is nice sometimes. By the way i was looking in the stickies and comparing prices to ebay, and they seem to be a little bit economical as opposed to ordering via telephone and placing the order with the s2ki discount. Id be saving about 50 bucks if i did it through ebay. The plastic window is ugly and i was considering doing the retrofit to glass.

If you have enough money to get a hardtop + good paint job, i will get hard top. That's just me.

I decided on replacing my soft top instead of getting a HT. Only reason I did this is because since the replacement was covered by insurance, I was told if I went with a hardtop, using the money from the insurance which was $2,032. That the hardtop, or soft top if I got it patched instead of replaced. Neither of them would be covered on insurance since I would not be using the check for what it was "intended" for. However, if I did get the soft top replaced at Honda, fully covered, and it was vandalized again, or I bought a hard top with my own money and it was stolen or vandalized. That both tops would be covered again for the same deductible, $100.00 But if your insurance is not covering it, then yes, I would go with an OEM HT.
