As long as there isn't ice on the ground, I see no reason for the weather to hurt attendance (unless you're referring to spectators). It's not like you're going to be standing out in the rain (or 110 degree heat) shagging cones. A little rain just makes things that much more interesting, and really shows you how smooth you are. On dry pavement, a set of sticky tires can cover up a lot of bad driving... but in the rain, the guy that is smoother will generally be faster.

However, I've never been to MSR, so I'm just hoping there is some covered/indoor area where I can empty my tools, etc and keep them dry.

I agree that I learn more in the wet, but I have more fun in the dry. About half of the DE's I have done have had some to all sessions in the rain. I just don't like it.

My car is over 3700 pounds with driver, has 380 rwhp and over 300 ft/lb of rwtq from 2000 rpm; it is not very forgiving in the wet. Tires do not stick well in the cold either. I am not out there to be "smoothest", I am out there to gen an adrenaline high from extreme speed and forces.

Why? Weather.com indicates that it is supposed to be pretty nice. It will be cold, but if somebody registered for this event expecting it to be warm, then they weren't thinking clearly.
