I'm thinking of getting the elite...

 

The elite has better heat dispersing but crappy firmware still..... I would wait. Microsoft said so themselves that they made a mistake on the 360's I forgot where the article was.

 

Hah, thats weird. I really do like their O/S that microsoft have running on the 360, it runs smooth and is very easy and pleasant to use. And the controls are perfect for FPS's.

I doubt I'll get it anytime soon though, just thinking about it.

 

Yea I agree the 360 does have good fps games, the fact that hdmi was later released for the system was a disappointment not to mention i went through 3 360's. The firmware is easy to navigate and i love xbox live, but man that red ring of death is infamous. But have u noticed that the PS3 and the 360 have to have some form of 3rd party cooling device? lol I think it's lame

 

Did you just send it back in and get a new one? Mine has that and it's still within the 3 year period. They tried to get me to get a RMA through xbox live or something and mine isn't even hooked up to online at the moment.

 

This is exactly why I buy everything from costco. I bought one of the first 360's and hardly played it, but it finally died like a year ago, didn't even have a receipt. Went into costco they exchanged it for a brand new one and ended up making like $100 due to the release price being higher than what it is now.

 

Yeah, I called 1-800-4-MY-XBOX and they asked for the serial number, saw it was still in warranty (this was right after Microsoft extended the warranty), they sent me a pre-paid box to ship it back in, and I got the new 360 in about 2 weeks.

 

$100 gift card this week if you buy a PS3 from Wal-Mart. Just picked mine up!

 

Best Buy will match this too. And if you have a Sony card, they'll deduct another $100
