Default Race seat install pointers

Stock seats are out and race seats are almost installed...well basically just sitting in the car now, not bolted.

Just looking for pointers on lining up the seat.

A. If I tighten the bolts from the side mount brackets to the sliders, the sliders may not line up with the holes.

B. If I keep them somewhat loose, tightening them down would be difficult because can't get a wrench under the seat

C. If I install the rails and mounts first then try to attach the seat, cannot get to all the bolts.

I am sort of doing a mixture of A & B and not sure how it will work out.

The seats are Recaro SPG, rails are buddy clubs and the car is a 07 S2K.

The bolts closest to the tunnel are the hardest to get to. you should start with that one on each side.

I started with the one in the back, closest to the rear of the trans tunnel.

Put the bolt in there first, and don't tighten all the way. Then it's just a matter of nudging the rails in place over the bolt holes and tightening them after you've got them all started.

Are you saying with the seat already attached to the rails?

Or bolt the rails in the car and then install the seat?

Thanks for your help!

Bolt the seats to the rails, then the rails to the floors. I use a long extension with a ball flex end for the back bolts...helps a lot.

I'll give it more of a try later on. I'll push the "L" brackets to the furthest on their slots and bolt it down.

Right now, I am just slowly removing the interior. Just ordered a Helms manual, the Hard Dog roll bar and eventually I will order the harnesses, some brake pads and new helmet....

my wallet will then be sufficiently lightened and no more purchases for awhile (besides maintenance).

Looks like they have the 00-03 manual, nothing for the Ap2 people.
Cool for the seats, not so much for under the hood.

I have the PDF from Honda Hookup for awhile now (thanks for the heads up), but the interior between the years are slightly different. I am trying to minimize any damage to the removed panels in the event that I may want to turn the car back to stock.

I am hoping the car will have all of the safety stuff before the first track day. I'll worry about suspension, wheels/tires later in the year or next year.

I will probably be a little slow for the first few months (or year), getting re-acquainted with RWD. This will be fun.
