There is a company that rents our porsches, vipers and the like somewhere on 75 in Plano. I used to see them all the time, not exactly sure where, but if you drive on the access road going south somewhere between parker and 190, you can't miss them.

Yeah it's on the west side of Park and 75.

insurance wise, the car is covered by the policy as long as the person driving it is authorized by the owner/policy holder. Also the driver cannot be excluded from the policy. It gets really hairy if you have an "at fault" the car is covered and the liability is covered, but the driver is financially liable for any injury suits. The owner of the car takes a risk, because there's a chance that the insurance may cancel your coverage or increase you premium.

My advice...negotiate a good deal, and instead of paying a few hundred bucks for 2-3 days of joy in your dream car...finance/lease one!

Well for starters I already addressed the Dallas Exotic Rental companies as not an option because, they charge alot, must be 21+, and being 130 miles west of dallas makes the price skyrocket.

And basically I just want to have a fun week in my favorite car. I am buying an S when I turn 25 and can afford the insurance. Until then im stuck with my sedan

Thanks for the advice guys.

Hehe... Not to rain on your parade, but I thought much the same thing. Then I graduated from college and reality hit. Actually, I had my eyes set on an E46 M3 right out of college. Later, I realized it was outside my means and was going to get an S2K. When I factored in taxes deducted from my paychecks, rent, bills, insurance, etc, etc. it would have been very impractical to have an S2k, nevermind as my only vehicle, and do anything "fun" besides afford to drive the car. I decided to sink some money in a mortgage (a far better investment) and make-do with my RSX-S. It hauls pretty much anything I ever need to tote around, is fast enough to get me into lots of trouble, and is dead reliable. That's not to say that I don't still want an S2K (or similar), but I just have to wait a bit longer. And it will be a second car, not a daily driver.

Good luck with your goal! But I think when the time comes, you might need to take a step back and look at things a little more realistically.

Bah... to heck with being realistic... S2000 all the way

And then get a POS beater pickup as a backup/utility vehicle.

Well by the time I am 25 I am hoping used prices will be 16-17 for a good 01-02 and I am not going to 4 year route so I hopefully will be settled enough by then to have an impractical car. Thanks for the guidance though, graduation is really making me scramble to get things organized.

Also MALU59RT, if these guys havent scared you off by now I am trying to get in touch with you. The board doesnt allow email, shoot me one at nivek2002@gmail.com asap. THANKS

Kevin
