Default 09 problems

Hi, new member here.

I've recently started looking for an S2000, and would welcome some info.

Having read many of the posts on this forum I'm unsure whether the 09 engine problem also applies to 08 cars? Anyone know for sure?

Also, if I buy a car from a private seller, I would want to have a test drive, but it is unlikely that the seller's insurance would cover this. Has anyone here arranged temporary cover just for a test drive, and was this easy to do?

Many thanks for any help,

John

I think a small majority of the 08's were affected as well.

Have you read this? I know it says 09 but worth a look through anyway!

For every one that had a engine problem there is many that haven't. If it was such a problem Honda would do a recall.

'09 model year starts June '08, hence the confusion.

Think of it like Porsche RMS failure; it's a low-percentage probability of annoyance. Only it still occurs a bit more often in them than it should.

You can ring your broker with the reg. no. for temp. cover. They'll gladly take the £30 off you...
