can anyone help, i have fitted an aem cold air intake a month ago, it sounds great but i cant help thinking i have lost some power lower down, anyone know of a possible problem or solution

common problem since the filter is now just sitting unprotected in the engine bay so is susceptible to the dreaded heat soak.

only real solution is to sell it and put the stock air box back on with a spoon (or muz) air duct or spend $

Depends though if this is a short ram (ie same place as normal filter or the longer CAI that goes down to intake near front bumper.

If the latter then it certainly isnt heatsoak.

Either way, there isnt much out there to replace OEM which will actually add power, most lose it.

You ever get kangeroo syndrome?

i have the longer CAI, thinkin i might not have removeed enough of the plastic undertray thing.
thanx for the advice, no kangeroo though, infact i would say it has helped it since taking the old air box off

the prob is just as i put foot down say in second and crawling but ah well the sounds are cool though
