Default AEM Oil Pressure Sensor/ Series 2 EMS help

Afternoon all,

I recently noticed that my oil pressure reading was not as expected - I somehow had 40ish psi of oil pressure without the engine running! I'm running an AEM EMS Series 2, with an AEM Oil Pressure Sensor (100psi). I thought maybe the sensor had given up, so I just swapped it for a new one (150psi as it happens). But I have the same issue - although reading even higher while the engine isn't running. Both values seem to equate to about 2.25 Volts.

Reckon a sensor ground has failed on the EMS again?? I f*#king hope not, it's been back to the US to have a sensor circuit fixed twice already.

The sensor is on the end of a short hose which is screwed into the OEM Oil Pressure Switch hole. I wondered whether it might be blocked, but any residual pressure will have been released when I removed the sensor from the end of the hose.

Anyone else got any thoughts as to the likely cause? Or any fault finding I could do?

Any help appreciated.

Try running a temp earth wire to the outside of the sensor body.

Turned out to be a simple thing, thankfully! One of the pins in the plug had unseated itself from the plug itself, so class causing a dodgy connection. Phew!
