Default Air Pump

Hi all,

Bought an S2000 recently and the owner informed me that the engine management is due to the air pump.

What easier buying a new airpump or getting a delete kit?
If delete kit which one is the simplest to install.
I've done a search and couldn't find an answer.

Furthermore the air pump may have physical been damaged previously as the car has a knock does this affect a delete kit from effectively working?

Many thanks

You bought an S with a CEL light on?

What is the code it's giving you and have you read it yourself or are you going off what the previous owner is telling you?

Delete kit will replace the pump with a resistor, have a look in the for sale section for the kit I'm selling

I think the car has had a bump rather than it's making a knocking noise.

P1411 along those lines points to air pump.

Cheers

P1411 most likely indicates a stuck relay, though tbh it can also indicate that the air pump isn't plugged into the relay OR the air pump is stuck/seized and drawing too much current.

P0410 is the more general "there's something wrong with the SAI system" which could just be a disconnected pipe

TBH I'd ditch the lot and get one of WinFreak's delete kits - a much neater solution all round
