Default Air Pump

Hi

Sorry if this has already been posted up but i want to remove the air pump as its only used for cold start emissions and not needed so i want to remove it as its also giving me a fault code as i think something is faulty with it.

I see MB (mark) has removed his but he has different managment. Is there a way of removing it and putting some find of resistor/fuse in place to fool the ecu to think its still there and working?

No.

There used to be a system that you could buy in the states for use for the stock ECU but it was pulled as it caused problems, was a simply relay circuit etc IIRC.

Its probably a relay that is at fault but its difficult to get access to.

ok thanks,

Ive read the topic on the US forum but seen allot of pople having problems with it and it has been locked.

I was hoping someone in the UK might have come up with a different solution.
