Alarm going crazy
I got a new battery fitted 3-4 weeks back and since then my alarm has been gone thoroughly mental. It's driving me crazy as I have to leg it downstairs (I'm in a 3rd floor flat) to switch the damn thing off and I think the other flats are going to lynch me pretty soon. I've had the S2K for nearly a year and had no problems with the alarm until just recently.
Anyway it may just be a conincidence with the alarm and the battery but was wondering if anyone had suffered something similar. The system is just standard Honda Cat 1 (Instructions say Thatcham T2), I'm trying to not have the ultrasonic armed but to be honest I keep forgetting to count the flashes etc and so it's arming and going off a lot. Is it possible to turn down the sensitivity of the sensor? Or is it more likely to be a loose wire?
Any ideas on what I can try, may just take it in to Chiswick Honda but they are pretty hit and miss from my experience.

if you are still alive, check the battery connections are clean and tight.
Otherwise it may well be a duff battery
Job for the dealer I'm afraid (and don't bother disconnecting the battery to make the alarm go off, someone on here told me the siren has a backup battery)

In the end I tried disconnecting the battery and it seems to have worked which solves the problem in the short term. Annoyingly it was at about 3.45am today I had to do this but at least it's gone quiet for more than 5 minutes!
Will have to take it into Honda and see if they can find the problem as I'm stumped, all connections seemed to be 100% to me.
Grrr.

It will be a failure of the shite Hamilton Palmer alarm thats fitted on the dockside by monkeys for grapes
Just hope they dont rip the carpet or get grease all over your interior like they did to ours when it failed in its first week from new

This just gets better, having spoken to Chiswick Honda they have another car in with the same issue at the moment. They said if the car has been bumped without switching on the lights first (DAMMIT) then the circuit gets overloaded and the alarm circuit board burns out.
A new one takes 3 days to get from Hamilton Palmer and will cost nearly 200 quid.
200 QUID!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really didn't need to hear that.

Honda alarms are a PoS. Ive updated to a Clifford Intelliguard 950 and for my money its miles better, fully adjustable for sensitivity and its also thatcham Cat 1 for insurance purposes.
