This is all very bizzare I must say - my wheel photo's were submitted to Honda UK (via my dealership) about 10 days ago. Honda UK came back today approving replacement - but on a stictly like for like basis.

WTF is going on

he says that all the work has been approved:- roof, roof catches, wheels.

but the wheels will be the old kind.....am calling honda Uk now to try and make some sense of this.

StevenM, would you mind if you PM'd me your reg number so I can use it as an example?

Many thanks.

Ok,

Spoke to the nice lady at honda uk.

It seems that the "counter measure" wheel is the same design of wheel, but with a thicker layer of laquer. This they feel will eliminate the problem.

They are also giving an extended warranty on these wheels. She had someone say it would be 10 years, but she felt it was more likely to be 6. She's waiting to see somthing in writing.

She also said that my wheels that go on next week should be the new type...

So we'll see what happens.

Cheers for the PM steve.

M..

Sounds encouraging Mark (especially the 6 yr. warranty bit )

Thanks for persevering with this

Well I'm keeping my fingers well and truly crossed for the recall, as Honda(UK) insist my wheels aren't corroding at all. I've apparently neglected them by cleaning them every week and by religiously applying Alloy Wheel Protector

My wheels were replaced on Friday by Brindley Honda in Cannock - still the old style though.

They do look better finished though.

Matt.
