Just to calrify something here

 

I have the modifry DCI too with my alpine headunit - easily to install and works flawlessly

For door speakers I went with JL xr650csi (you will need some mounting adapters though)

 

That's because the American units didn't used to have these. All the Alpine units that would work with the KCE865B have this socket

 

From the man who bought a US unit with out the 3.5mm jack and couldn't get the KCE865 to work

 

yeah, the 3.5mm jack is on 2005+ Alpine models only in the US

 

No. But it works flawlessly, unlike some of the alternatives. There's a flurry of threads on this subject at the moment ...

 

I'm familiar with the foibles of the KCE865B but I don't see the Countdown device offering the same level of functionality as the DCI. As far as I am aware, the DCI is completely reliable, have you seen a few threads to the contrary?

 

I was only referring to threads on the subject of dash controls in general, not ones that referred to problems with Modifry or Alpine interfaces (although I know Bassoctopus did have a problem with his Alpine ...)
